This is definitely an innovative use of Social Media from KLM , but it could also potentially irritate some passengers. KLM’S Meet and Seat programme: “How to get a better seatmate” , is certainly not for everyone.

The idea is to link your Facebook profile with your profile as a passenger , this will allow you to see other passengers’ FB profiles when checking-in for your flight online and choosing your seat next to someone who shares the same interests, someone who you think will be a good company throughout the flight, or is already your FB acquaintance etc… From a technical and Social Media Innovation perspective hats-off to the Royal Dutch Airlines.
